We are pleased to report the successful launch of our residential NMC OSCE training program at the Apollo Buckingham Health Sciences Crewe campus, delivered in collaboration with Apollo Education UK Ltd. The event, held on Wednesday, 15th January 2025, was a resounding success, drawing a diverse audience of international nurses, representatives from NHS Trusts across the UK, and private healthcare employers.
The program, designed to support international nurses in successfully passing the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s Objective Structured Clinical Examination (NMC OSCE), represents a pivotal initiative in addressing critical workforce shortages in the UK healthcare sector.
A Well-Attended and Insightful Event
The launch event was well attended by international nurses who recently completed the OSCE training course and successfully passed their exams. These newly qualified professionals expressed gratitude for the high-quality training they received and the support provided by the program in achieving their professional goals. Representatives from NHS Trusts and private healthcare employers also participated, underscoring the significance of this initiative in strengthening the UK’s healthcare workforce.
Special guests included the local MP and the Mayor of Crewe, both of whom found the event to be incredibly insightful. They praised the collaborative effort between Apollo Education UK and Ealoor Consultancy in addressing the challenges faced by international nurses and enhancing their integration into the UK healthcare system.
Interactive Sessions and Facility Tours
Attendees were given a guided tour of the state-of-the-art OSCE training facilities at the Apollo campus. The tour provided an opportunity to observe the resources available to international nurses and understand the rigorous training process. Guests also participated in a Q&A session with experienced OSCE trainers and had the chance to hear from Norman Franklin, Head of the NMC OSCE Training Centre at Northumbria University.
Milestone for International Nurses and the Healthcare Sector
The new residential OSCE training program marks a significant milestone in streamlining the journey for internationally qualified nurses aspiring to work in the UK. The initiative offers a comprehensive solution for navigating the complexities of certification and clinical preparation, ensuring that international nurses are well-equipped to meet NHS standards.
