OSCE Training
At NursingjobsUK, we are proud to have been awarded as a provider for Lot 4, delivering training support for international nurses preparing for the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) as part of the NHS Procurement in Partnership and Crown Commercial Service. This recognition complements our established role in international recruitment for nursing, midwifery, doctors, and dentists, along with offering pastoral support services.
We provide tailored OSCE training programs, adhering to the latest Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) guidelines and covering all ten exam stations. At NursingjobsUK, we are committed to the success of our candidates—if a nurse does not pass the exam after attending our training, we offer personalised one-on-one support until they do. We are proud of our 95% first attempt success rate and a 100% overall pass rate for our candidates.
We are also the only OSCE trainers in the UK offering training every month, ensuring flexibility for candidates to enroll at their convenience. Most of our candidates are either pre-registered nurses or international nurses arriving in the UK.
In addition to supporting private candidates, we provide tailored OSCE training to NHS Trusts across the UK. Read our case study below on the NMC OSCE training provided to 66 international nurses at Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Why OSCE training is essential
The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is a crucial step in the journey of internationally educated nurses and midwives who wish to practice in the UK. It is specifically designed to test not only theoretical knowledge but also the practical, hands-on skills required to deliver safe and effective patient care. The OSCE replicates real-life clinical environments and presents “patient” scenarios that healthcare professionals are likely to face in their everyday practice.
During the exam, candidates are assessed on their ability to gather information, assess patient needs, plan and implement appropriate care, and then evaluate outcomes in a systematic and professional way. To succeed, it is not enough to simply memorise procedures—candidates must demonstrate confidence, competence, and the ability to apply a contemporary evidence base to every decision they make. This includes showcasing effective communication, accurate documentation, and critical thinking skills while ensuring patient safety remains at the forefront.
OSCE training provides an invaluable opportunity to become familiar with the structure and expectations of the exam. It helps candidates bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and its application in a practical, high-pressure setting. Through guided practice, constructive feedback, and expert coaching, candidates develop the confidence and competence needed to perform well under examination conditions.
At NursingjobsUK, we recognise how important passing the OSCE is for building your nursing or midwifery career in the UK. As both recruiters and trainers, we are committed to supporting you every step of the way. Our tailored OSCE training programme is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and strategies required to succeed—giving you the best chance of passing your OSCE on the very first attempt.

If you have completed at least 12 months of full-time work in a non-registered role and have narrowly missed the required English test scores—or completed nursing training taught in English overseas—you may be eligible. Under this route, a senior nurse manager who has supervised you for at least six months can confirm your English language competence in a clinical setting. What if I fail OSCE for the third time?
To work in the UK is a dream for many nurses across the world but completing the IELTS, CBT and receiving the NMC decision letter is only part of the process. The real challenge for any international nurse is to pass the OSCE. Passing the OSCE ensures the NMC pin number which guarantees your job security and further employment in the UK.
You have three attempts to appear for the OSCE,but what happens if you fail the OSCE on the 3rd attempt? Typically your certificate of Sponsorship will be curtailed and you will be asked to travel back to your home country but this is not the case if you are a candidate who came to the UK and joined with an employer through us. We extend a further helping hand for those candidates who have failed the OSCE for the third time. We have expert solicitors and legal advisors working with us who can provide you with the necessary guidance and expertise to attempt the OSCE again.
