OSCE Training

At NursingjobsUK, we are proud to have been awarded as a provider for Lot 4, delivering training support for international nurses preparing for the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) as part of the NHS Procurement in Partnership and Crown Commercial Service. This recognition complements our established role in international recruitment for nursing, midwifery, doctors, and dentists, along with offering pastoral support services.

We provide tailored OSCE training programs, adhering to the latest Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) guidelines and covering all ten exam stations. At NursingjobsUK, we are committed to the success of our candidates—if a nurse does not pass the exam after attending our training, we offer personalised one-on-one support until they do.

We are also the only OSCE trainers in the UK offering training every month, ensuring flexibility for candidates to enroll at their convenience. Most of our candidates are either pre-registered nurses or international nurses arriving in the UK.

In addition to supporting private candidates, we provide tailored OSCE training to NHS Trusts across the UK. Read our case study below on the NMC OSCE training provided to 66 international nurses at Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

 Our OSCE Training Programmes

We understand that each individual has a unique learning style and varying personal circumstances. That’s why we provide a range of training programs for candidates to choose from which include:

Onsite OSCE Program with Residential Accommodation Available

NursingjobsUK has introduced a comprehensive OSCE residential training program in association with Apollo Buckingham Health Science Campus. This program is specifically designed to equip nurses with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the OSCE exam. The campus is situated near to the town centre of Crewe in South Cheshire.  The course is also open to candidates who do not require accommodation and wish to travel.  Our campus has ample parking available and is close to Crewe train station.

The training consists of a 30-day residential course, where nurses are guided by experienced nurse tutors and undergo regular assessments, including two mock exams with personalised feedback. Additionally, nurses have free access to an online Learning Management System (LMS), which provides focused training modules covering the OSCE exam format and key skills. The LMS is available 24/7, allowing nurses to study at their own pace and revisit lessons as often as needed.

Training takes place on the same campus as the candidate accommodation, with excellent nearby facilities such as local shops, supermarkets, restaurants, convenient transport links, healthcare services, and pharmacies.

To support nurses, NJUK is offering an alternative pathway designed to fast-track your journey to the UK as Registered Nurse. We’re giving international nurses the chance to join our OSCE training programme ensuring that you’re fully prepared to pass the OSCE exam and secure a job in the UK before your qualifications expire.

Visa Options

International candidates can now apply for a Short term study Visa to attend the residential programme and to sit for the OSCE exam.

    Our OSCE Training Success

Since we started training in 2016, we have provided OSCE training to more than 3,000 candidates in partnerships with NHS Trusts, care homes and self-funded candidates across the UK. We are passionate about elevating healthcare professionals’ skills and knowledge, and we take great pride in the positive outcomes we have generated through our training initiatives. We are proud of our 4.7 rating on Google My Business, our full candidate reviews can be viewed by following this link.

    Why OSCE training is essential

The OSCE will simulate a clinical environment and “patient” scenarios which registered nurses and midwives are likely to encounter when they assess, plan, implement and evaluate care. Candidates are expected to utilise a contemporary evidence base and effectively demonstrate the safe practical application of nursing and midwifery skills.

As recruiters and trainers NursingjobsUK is pleased to offer OSCE training to get you through your OSCE examination on your first attempt.

What if I fail OSCE for the third time?

To work in the UK is a dream for many nurses across the world but completing the IELTS, CBT and receiving the NMC decision letter is only part of the process. The real challenge for any international nurse is to pass the OSCE. Passing the OSCE ensures the NMC pin number which guarantees your job security and further employment in the UK.

You have three attempts to appear for the OSCE,but what happens if you fail the OSCE on the 3rd attempt? Typically your certificate of Sponsorship will be curtailed and you will be asked to travel back to your home country but this is not the case if you are a candidate who came to the UK and joined with an employer through us. We extend a further helping hand for those candidates who have failed the OSCE for the third time. We have expert solicitors and legal advisors working with us who can provide you with the necessary guidance and expertise to attempt the OSCE again.
